Traces of Being

This series of three artworks reflects a sense of transition and contemplation, capturing the feelings of both connection and departure. Created as a way to hold onto moments, each piece examines how I experienced memory and perception, especially at a turning point. Through layered forms , the series speaks to the impressions I carried with me and how they would shift in new surroundings, allowing each viewer to find fragments of their own journeys within the works.

Replications

As an extension of the third work from Traces of Being, 'How?', the artwork was scanned, mirrored, and translated into embroidered patches.

These were placed onto twenty T-shirts and given to people I held close before leaving Bangalore, individuals who, over time, shaped my way of seeing and being. Not family by blood, but by choice.

I’ve come to understand identity as something formed through proximity, through the people you surround yourself with. This gesture carries a fragment of the work into those connections, dispersing it across twenty lives, each holding a different trace from me to them, with love.
